     Candidates for employment must be able to maintain exacting quality and safety standards, read and write in English, keep accurate records, pay strong attention to details, have the ability to effectively verbally communicate and follow directions, and to maintain trade tools, equipment and supplies.  Minimum prior work experience required: 5 years.

Job Location: Hanover County, N.E. of metro-Richmond, Virginia.
Schedule: On-call, part-time, potentially leading to full-time as justified by current business conditions.

This is semi-skilled work assisting skilled workers in the performance of duties related to our unique hand-crafted corrugated cardboard big boxes and wooden crates trade.


Work involves routine help and semi-skilled work performed under close supervision of a skilled tradesman.  As experience is gained, an employee progressively becomes more skilled and uses more independent judgment as to methodology.  Work is subject to quality checks while in progress and after completion.


Assist by loading, unloading and carrying materials and equipment and performing manual duties.  This includes routine property maintenance and projects on work site as directed.


Operate cutting equipment and hand tools associated with this trade, as well as motorized machines and equipment.


Drives trucks, cleans up shop and performs other related work as required.




Graduation from a standard vocational or high school and some experience as a trades helper; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. 




Some knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of manual work and creative crafting trades.


Some knowledge of the occupational hazards of manual trades work and of necessary safety precautions.


Ability to safely perform lifting and manual handling of heavy and/or bulky objects.


Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.


Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment.




Ability to develop skill in creating unique solutions to packaging.


Ability to comprehend risk reduction in the design and fabrication of boxes and crates for shipping and/or storage of valuable contents.


Ability to estimate time and materials needed for assigned work projects.


Ability to maintain a positive attitude, communicate clearly and be fully responsive to customer expectations.
